Tattoo parlour draws the crowds

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

No less than 2,000 of the Shoreditch fraternity came along yesterday as part of our Drink consumer engagement activity for Sauza tequila., enjoying complimentary Hornitos Paloma cocktails and temporary tattoos. Stationed just off Brick Lane, the Focus PR team, suitably decked out in body art and glitter, hosted the one-day only Hornitos pop-up tattoo parlour with the Sauza team from Maxxium led by Jen McLaren, who ran a very jolly and efficient sampling bar.

DJ sets created the vibe and plenty of samplers added their own graffiti to our urban art wall which was ably kicked off by the Graffiti Kings.  The winning ‘tattoo-ed’ bottle from our recent competition with Skindeep and Tattoo Master had pride of place on a pedestal and four of the runner-up bottle designs were on display as well. You’ll have a second chance to view them next weekend too – they’ll be on display at Tattoo Jam, Doncaster Racecourse 6-8 August.

If you’d like to make your very own Paloma, here’s the recipe: to one measure of Hornitos Reposado tequila add a measure of fresh grapefruit juice.  Squeeze in some fresh lime, pour into a tall glass containing ice and a lime wedge, then top up with lemonade.  Delicious!

And if you’re tempted to dabble in some (temporary) body art of your own, contact Contraband Events.

Get your tastebuds around a Paloma cocktail at the pop-up tattoo parlour

Head to the East End of London on Sunday 1 August to check out the HORNITOS Tequila pop-up Tattoo Parlour which we’re creating. For one day only HORNITOS Tequila will be concocting complimentary cocktails (for the first 2,000 visitors) and offering temporary tattoos at the Dray Walk Gallery, just off Brick Lane, London, E1 from 12pm until 6pm.

We’ll be joined by the very finest temporary tattoo artists, who will be on hand to apply the body art, and London’s authentic underground, urban designers, the Graffiti KiNGS, will also be inviting the public to create some live graffiti art on the day.

The event will be taking place to celebrate the end of a UK-wide search for a talented tattoo artist to design a limited edition HORNITOS Tequila bottle. The competition received an overwhelming response from the most talented and creative body art artists from around the country and the winning designs will be exhibited at the Pop-Up Tattoo Parlour for one day only.  Come along to get inked!

iNK your own with Hornitos tequila!

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

We’ve spent the past few months working with authentic Mexican tequila brand Hornitos and leading tattoo publication, Skin Deep, to launch an exclusive competition for tattoo enthusiasts to ink their own bottle design.

The winning artist will bag a whopping £3,000 as well as the opportunity to show off their skills in an exclusive interview in the August issue of Skin Deep and professional tattoo and body art publication, Tattoo Master. The winning design will also adorn a limited edition bottle of Hornitos available from some of the coolest tequila bars across the country.

The entries are in and available to view and vote for your favourite, so take a peek and help our judges (who are some of the most esteemed body artists on the planet, including the dude that inks David Beckham, lucky man!) determine a victor.

We’ll be showing off some of the fantastic designs and announcing our winner at Tattoo Jam, so vote now for a chance to win some free tickets.  Voting closes on 10 June.
